Order and Delivery Terms

From the University of Vaasa (business ID 029599-8) webshop, registered and unregistered customers can order products, publications and services. General terms of delivery and payment apply. By sending an order form, you agree with the terms of delivery and payment and undertake to comply with them.

Customer information and registration

Registration is voluntary and free of charge. You can also place an order without registering.  At registration, the customer fills out the form with their contact information and creates a personal password for their username which is their email address.

Customer data will not be disclosed to third parties other than within the limits permitted by law. Read more about registering and recording of data from the Record of Processing Activities.

Placing an order

When ordering, the customer must provide a name, postal address, telephone number and email address.

The customer agrees to the order and delivery terms valid at the time of each order. The purchase is binding when the customer has placed the order and accepted the terms of delivery and payment.


The prices of products are shown in the product descriptions.

The prices include the value-added tax valid at the time.

We reserve the right to change prices.

Method and time of delivery

The customer can collect the product from the pick-up point at the University of Vaasa (Wolffintie 34) or the product can be delivered to the customer via Posti.

Customers who have chosen to collect the products from the pick-up point will get an email notification once the items are ready for pick-up at the main building which is open on weekdays 8.00‒15.30.

For products in stock, the estimated time of delivery by mail is four to seven (4‒7) working days. We only deliver in Finland for the time being.

The time of delivery is a non-binding estimate.  

Delivery costs

Delivery costs include mailing and packing costs.

For products collected from our pick-up point, we charge no delivery cost.

For deliveries via Posti, we charge a fixed delivery cost of 10 € which includes mailing and packing. 

Method of payment

Products and delivery costs are generally paid for online when ordering.

Paytrail Plc (2122839-7) acts as the collecting payment service provider and is an authorised Payment Institution. Paytrail Plc will be shown as the recipient on your bank or credit card statement.

Exchange and return policy

All products purchased from our webshop have a 14-day return policy. Please be in touch at shop(a)uwasa.fi before returning any products, especially if you want to exchange the product for another.

Product defects

In general, we compensate for defects by submitting a flawless replacement product at no cost. If this is not possible, we will refund the price you paid for the product to your account after receiving the defective product as a customer return.

Force majeure

We are not responsible for delays caused by force majeure or indirect damage caused by defective products or delayed delivery.

Customer communications

The University of Vaasa webshop may send its customers marketing and customer service emails.

Dispute settlement

The Finnish law applies to possible disputes concerning the agreement between the webshop and the customer. The consumer has the right to submit the dispute to the Consumer Disputes Board.

Changes to these terms

The University of Vaasa has the right to make changes to the webshop, its contents and availability as well as these terms at any time by notifying of it in the webshop. Any changes will take effect immediately. However, the terms valid at the time of purchase always stand.
